About Daily Sentimental
Remember when?
When you had to get up to change the TV channel, a mixtape was a labour of love, and missing your favourite show meant waiting for the rerun? When the Sears catalogue could occupy an entire afternoon, the TV Guide told you what was on tonight, and nobody needed to explain what “Be kind, rewind” meant?
So do we.
Daily Sentimental is a place to revisit the television, movies, music, food, fads, products and everyday moments that made the past memorable — from I Love Lucy and Bewitched to The Breakfast Club, from vinyl and 8-tracks to cassettes and CDs, and from TV dinners to Pop Rocks.
But we’re not here just to tell you about the past. We want you to play with it.
Test your memory with a daily word game. Settle the important questions once and for all — Coke or Pepsi? Samantha or Serena? Daniel LaRusso or Johnny Lawrence? Decide whether you’d rather spend the weekend with the Bradys or the Addams Family. Take a quiz, solve a puzzle, cast a vote, and discover whether everyone else remembers things quite the way you do.
Some answers will come back faster than “Come on down!” Others may be buried somewhere between your old Trapper Keeper and that box of cassette tapes you swear you’re going to sort out someday.
And every once in a while, we might dig a little deeper into the stories behind the shows, songs, people, products and peculiar little things we haven’t thought about in years.
So pull up a beanbag chair, grab a Tab, and stay awhile.
There’s always something worth remembering.
